SUEZ is a global expert in the water and waste sectors. They provide about 4 million Australian residents and businesses with waste collection services each week. With volumes of urban waste increasing, SUEZ is working with local authorities to set up made-to-measure collection systems that can collect more recoverable waste, reduce nuisances and optimise costs.

SUEZ needed their waste collection trucks to leave Belrose Resource Recovery Centre earlier in the morning so they could continue to provide efficient and effective resource recovery services to the community. However, this would mean trucks passing nearby houses in the night-time.

Hibbs acoustics engineers made detailed measurements of the trucks and wrote a noise impact assessment for SUEZ that formed part of their development application. We believe that our transparent and honest reporting of the noise effects on residents helped Waverly Council to decide how best to balance recycling obligations and night-time noise impacts. Council approved the development application without query.
